Let God Be God!

PREMISE

He never sent an angel to nail a shining silver star into the coal black wall of space.  He never called upon nature to create a machine to ensure that the earth keeps spinning around at one thousand miles per hour on its axis.  He doesn’t require the elephant to grow his own jungle in which to forage for food. He clothes the fields with lilies, and His eye is even on the sparrow. Heaven and earth and all its created beauty declare to all attuned to its subtle voice:  “Let God Be God!”

Seraphims flutter around His throne day and night using three pairs of wings to stay aloft.  With one set they cover their feet so as not to tread on that most holy ground; with another set they cover their eyes so as not to directly behold the majestic brilliance of God; with another they fly around the throne room crying out:

Is 6:3  “…Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.”

With exultant jubilation the angelic hosts of heaven shout out to every living thing, “Let God Be God!”

In a generation of terroristic antagonism, atheistic ignorance, religious compromise and moral turpitude it’s time for The Church to stand up and proclaim “Let God Be God!”

Terrorists batter their fellow man with the fearsome fulmination:  “All other gods are powerless, let Allah be God!”

Atheists assault anything their foolish finite minds cannot comprehend, and scream: “There is no God!”

The Biblically Ignorant Religious rant on and on about popular social issues and loudly declare: “God is Love so He allows any sin into His kingdom!”

Morally bankrupt society finds nothing wrong with anyone and blindly overlooks the most heinous crimes against God’s highest creation while it cries out: “The god of SELF is the only god!”

God has been confined by mankind to an isolated wing of a celestial mental ward.  He has been diagnosed as incompetent, inadequate and irrelevant.  But, in the final analysis, when hidden things come to light and truth is shouted from the Housetops, man will realize that it was “he” who changed his “perception” of God….God hasn’t changed at all!

We serve the same God that laid out the parameters of the universe by simply measuring the palm of his great hand.  We serve a God who created angels with a word from his lips and a man from the dusty clay from some ancient riverbank.  We serve a God who cannot be bound in Egypt, locked in a lion’s den or burned in fiery furnace.  We serve a God who can don robes of human flesh, die on a cross and in three days…live again!

While unrighteous men defy God and declare Him a non-factor in today’s world, Righteous men should defy the unrighteous and declare: God is alive and well….“Let God Be God!”

In our generation, in our lives and in every hour of every day of this year we will shout out: “Let God Be God!”
