No One Ever Cared

Like Jesus

Ever had your heart broken?  Ever had to say goodbye to the love of your life?  Ever buried someone so close that you felt as if a part of your own soul was interred with them?  Ever been the object of ridicule or had someone make an unfair appraisal of your character?  Then you should really meet my friend…Jesus.

He is intimately acquainted with every heartache, every loss, every rejection every criticism you will ever experience.  The writers of holy verse offer these telling insights regarding my friend:

Isa 53:2 “ For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Isa 53:3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”

As a man, He lacked physical beauty.  As a messiah, He was rejected and despised.  The religionists of His day considered Him a fraud.  The political hierarchy dismissed Him as a rabble-rouser.  It seemed that no matter how many were healed, fed or taught by this gentlest of all men, He was still not good enough for their self-righteous elitism.  In the end, they chose to let the murdering insurrectionist, Barabbas, go free, and instead hung the innocent lamb Jesus on Calvary’s cross.

I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus

Since I found in him a friend so kind and true

I would tell you how he changed my life completely

He did something that no other friend could do

No one ever cared for me like Jesus

There’s no other friend so kind as He

No one else could take the sin and darkness from me

Oh! How much he cared for me

LET GOD BE GOD!
